Hello, in case you missed it, my name is Jessica Roberts. I am an actor, singer, writer and director based in San Antonio, Texas.

I have started acting since I was ten years old after my fourth grade class was required to participate in a school play. No joke, our entire fourth grade class was required to participate in a play that’s put on every year about the Battle of the Alamo. Since then, I’ve been performing in plays, musicals and film. I also have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting and Directing from Sam Houston State University.

To quote ABBA, “Mother says I was a dancer long before I could walk. She says I began to sing long before I could talk.” In other words, I’ve been singing for as long as I could remember. I’ve been a first soprano since I was fourteen years old…or more accurately, I chose it and I grew into it. It has gotten to the point to where after people hear me sing, they would tell me that I should do opera. I appreciate the compliments, and I applaud all the opera singers in the world, but opera is not for me.

While attending college, I tried out my hand in directing in a class, and I enjoyed it. I still do. So far, I have already directed three one act plays, and two full length plays. I hope to expand my repertoire as a director, for I feel like I’m still trying to find my niche and always open to learn.

In between projects, you can find me either with a piece of tech or a notebook, writing. I have always been writing for as long as I could remember, but it was during the pandemic that I tried my hand at writing plays. So far it’s going pretty good, and the audiences seem to enjoy them.
